AU$ All prices are in Australian dollars.
A car auction is a timed sale where multiple buyers bid competitively for a vehicle, which is sold to the highest bidder. The highest bidder wins the auction, pays the bid amount plus fees and then arranges to pick up their vehicle.
To participate in any Pickles sale, customers must create a MyPickles account. MyPickles is a free platform that allows customer to register for sales, bid on assets, create product alerts and organise payment. To create a MyPickles account, customers will need to provide an email address, payment information and verify their identity.
Processing fees are charged for all assets purchased from Pickles. Administration fees may also apply. All fees are GST inclusive. Refer to our fee list here. Deposits apply only to vehicles (cars, trucks, etc) and not other items.
All cars feature detailed condition reports and high-quality interactive images for online inspections. In-person inspections are available for some assets by appointment only. We do not perform mechanical inspections and our condition reports are based on external examinations. We advise customers to thoroughly conduct online inspections prior to bidding on an asset.

Pickles' car auctions frequent all vehicle types including sedans, SUVs, hatchbacks, wagons, trucks, utes, prestige and more. Check out our auction cars here.
Your step-by-step guide:
  1. Search for an item online
  2. Inspect: Review the condition report and photos online
  3. Register: Create a MyPickles account
  4. Bid: Place bids using your MyPickles account
  5. Purchase: If you are the highest bidder, you will receive an email
  6. Pick up: Bring identification and the invoice when you collect your item.
Yes. A reserve price is a predetermined minimum value a vendor wishes to receive for their asset. Pickles provide the vendor with an estimate of the asset's value, however the final reserve price is set by the vendor.

PASSED IN: In the event the reserve isn't met, the asset is kept and can be placed in another auction or the vendor can remove the asset from sale.

REFERRED: Sometimes the highest bid may have come close to - but did not reach - the reserve price. When this happens, the highest bid is referred to the vendor, who will then decide to either accept or decline the highest bid, or make a counter offer. *Please note: Bidders are under no obligation to accept the vendor’s negotiated offer.
If you are the highest bidder and reserve has been met or passed, you have legally entered a contract at that stage, and are responsible for the purchase of the item. Failure to proceed with the transaction could see you being banned from participating in any auction at Pickles for 12 months.
Pickles' Terms and Conditions require -
  • All bidders must be 18 years of age or older.
  • All bidders must register for the auction using a verified MyPickles account.
We understand it can be frustrating when a vehicle you are interested in is removed from the auction.

If you set up a saved search we can notify you once the vehicle is back up for sale.

We will continue to alert you for 4 weeks after you create your alert. You can cancel alerts at any time and review the alerts you have created from within MyPickles.
If you need to collect number plates, E-Tags or personal items, please contact us on 1300 052 392 or info@pickles.com.au and we will book you an appointment to visit the relevant branch.
We will hold the car for the number of impounded days required by the government. After this, the government will contact the relevant branch and advise them to sell it under their account. For more information, send an email to info@pickles.com.au
