Pickles is committed to supporting our local communities and actively caring for our neighbours. Here's how we help:
In 2011 we launched Workplace Giving to provide employees with the opportunity to make a difference to our community by donating to charities through pre-tax payroll contributions. Pickles match staff donations (up to $50,000 per annum). Based on the results of an employee survey, we identified three community causes that were of most interest and chose to support these. We donate to Camp Quality, Salvation Army and Variety.
Since its launch, Pickles and employees have together donated more than $257,000 to our charity partners. We have also helped our charity partners through events such as volunteering at the Bulldogs Camp Quality Round Game and fundraising nationally at all auctions for The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal.
We are involved in a wide range of national and local community activities including corporate sponsorships and donations, skills sharing/volunteering and workplace giving.
We make a conscious effort to support our neighbours. Here are some of the projects we've been involved in.
Our Townsville branch manager Todd Fellows donated his time and expertise by auctioning off goods in the 4TO NQ Food Relief Convoy to raise money for Food Relief NQ, a not-for-profit charity organisation that collects and distributes food to the needy. Overall, they raised $20,000 for the charity with Pickles contributing $1500.
Our Geebung branch proudly supported The Smith Family Foundations annual Toy and Book Appeal collecting 100 presents and raising $1,275 in donations.
