The top 10 cars Australians loved in November
Each month, the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries releases a report detailing the top-selling vehicles across Australia. Pickles’ monthly vehicle report presents the top 10 vehicles from this list and recounts industry news and trends as they affect the Australian market.
Market snapshot
November was another incredible month for the Australian new vehicle market, with national records breaking as more consumers received deliveries of their new cars. Compared to the same month in 2022, November exceeded records with over 112,000 vehicles delivered to Australians throughout the month. These numbers bring the yearly number of new purchases up over 1.1 million, which is the earliest time of year this figure has been exceeded in Australia’s history. This is unsurprising given six of the last seven months have seen recording-breaking sales figures. These exciting numbers have been driven up largely by the international supply chains resuming pace, with buyers finally receiving cars ordered up to a year ago. November sales mean the new vehicle market is on track to break the all-time sales record for vehicles sold in one year in Australia.
Sales were up in every State and Territory during November, with YoY growth jumping drastically. While all vehicle categories performed well, battery electric vehicles had a particularly successful month with 7.7% of the total monthly sales. Among brands, Toyota was the frontrunner for the month, followed by Mazda, Ford, Hyundai and Mitsubish. From models, the Ford Ranger was the overall top seller for the month, as in months previous, followed by the Toyota HiLux, Isuzu D-Max and the Tesla Model Y.
